August - race reports

8/25 - Saco Crit, ME
Chris, Ryan and Alain traveled north to Maine today for the Saco criterium.  This is a very technical course but the long sprint has treated the team well in the past.  Today was no different; our team came away tired and dehydrated but still looking pretty sharp.  While Alain and Chris set the pace for most of the master’s race, a late counter-attack caught them by surprise.  They ran out of laps to catch the lead riders but placed 2nd and 3rd in the field sprint. An hour later in the pro race, Ryan’s strong form continued as he made the winning move and turned in an excellent sprint to finish 3rd.  Alain and Chris still had some kick left in their legs after 2 races to place high in the field sprint.  Extra kudos to Chris who went down hard today but bounced right back up and returned to the race to help his teammates!

Norwell Circuit Race, 8/19, Norwell, MA
Legal Sea Foods rolled up to the line with high expectations and 4 guys for today's race. Alain went with an early counter attack that quickly grew into a strong group of 7 riders. With three LSF riders covering the chase, the breakaway's lead grew quickly and the field was soon fighting for 8th place. Peter attacked late with another rider and managed to catch one of the breakaway riders before the finish while Brad and Chris placed high in the field sprint.

Blount Seafoods Crit, 8/12, Fall River, MA
Today's race was a strange one. Alain had a mechanical early in the race and was given a free-lap by the officials. While that was going on, the winning break went up the road. Alain and Chris chased furiously, with Alain eventually breaking away from the field to solo for 8th place. After the race, Alain went to Landry's to get his bike fixed before the next race!

Central NH Road Race, 8/5, Bow, NH
The heat was a huge factor at one of New England's toughest courses, and the stacked competition, including riders from several Pro teams as well as New England's finest amatuers, made it one of the toughest editions yet. But that didn't stop our guys from cracking the top 20; Charles finished in 18th
with Ryan hot on his heel in 20th.
