Training for a comback...
For those of you that don't know, Alain recently had surgery on his hand to repair a longstanding injury that, well, made him a bit of a gimp. The procedure has pulled him off of the bike for 3-4 weeks with a cast and a very painful right hand. Plates, screws and who knows what else, has turned the former gimp into (hopefully) a version of the 6-million dollar man.
He's working on his recovery now and hopes to be back on the bike and training hard for a big comeback - just in time for the season to shift into high gear. Alain trained hard all winter - running for the Boston Marathon and riding when the weather was suitable for a total whuss. Shown below is a shot of him on his "training bike" - part of his pre-op conditioning...
Best wishes on a speedy recovery. We're looking forward to having you back in the peloton soon!
